These Therapist Terms apply to all therapists who register for a My Office account on Therapytips.org. By creating an account, you agree to these terms in addition to the general Terms of Service.

1. Eligibility and Credentials

By registering, you confirm that:

  • You are a licensed or credentialed mental health professional legally permitted to provide services in your jurisdiction.
  • Your credentials and professional standing are accurately represented on your profile at all times.
  • You will promptly update your profile if your licensing status changes.
  • You are not subject to any disciplinary action or revocation of your professional licence.

Therapytips.org may, but is not obligated to, verify credentials. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts where credentials are found to be misrepresented.

2. Independent Professional Status

You are an independent professional. Therapytips.org does not employ, supervise, or control your clinical practice. You are solely responsible for:

  • The clinical and ethical standards of all sessions you conduct
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and professional regulations
  • Carrying appropriate professional indemnity or malpractice insurance
  • Determining your own fees, cancellation policies, and session terms
  • Your own tax obligations on income earned through the platform

3. Client Data and HIPAA

Client appointment data, messages, and related information may constitute Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA. You agree to:

  • Treat all client data with strict confidentiality
  • Not export, share, or misuse client data obtained through the platform
  • Notify us immediately at [email protected] of any actual or suspected data breach

Psychology Solutions OÜ maintains a BAA with AWS for PHI storage. As a therapist, you are the Covered Entity; Therapytips.org acts as your Business Associate for storing and transmitting appointment and messaging data.

4. Content Standards, Intellectual Property, and Indemnification

Content you publish on Therapytips.org must:

  • Be accurate, evidence-based, and consistent with professional standards
  • Not constitute a diagnosis or individualised clinical advice
  • Not defame, harass, or harm any individual or group
  • Be entirely your own original work, or properly licensed for use — never plagiarised or copied from another source
  • Include proper attribution for any referenced research, statistics, or third-party work

Therapytips.org editors may edit, reject, or remove content at any time and at their sole discretion, including in response to a complaint or legal notice.

Images and media: Any images, photographs, graphics, or other media you submit alongside your content must be your own original work, licensed from a reputable stock provider (such as Unsplash, Pexels, or Adobe Stock), or published under a Creative Commons licence that permits commercial use. You must not upload images that are copyrighted by a third party without a valid licence to do so. By submitting an image, you represent and warrant that you have the rights to use it in this context.

Originality and plagiarism: You warrant that all content you submit is original and does not reproduce, paraphrase, or closely imitate the work of any third party without proper attribution and permission. Submitting plagiarised content is grounds for immediate account suspension.

DMCA and takedowns: If Therapytips.org receives a copyright complaint or takedown notice relating to content you have published, we reserve the right to remove that content immediately and without notice. We will inform you of any such notice where reasonably practicable. Repeated infringement may result in permanent account termination.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Psychology Solutions OÜ, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) content you publish on Therapytips.org; (b) your use of any image, text, or other material that infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights; (c) any claim that your content is defamatory, plagiarised, or otherwise unlawful; or (d) any breach of these terms. This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account.

5. Profile Accuracy

You are responsible for keeping your profile accurate and up to date. Misrepresentation of qualifications or availability may result in account suspension.

6. Fees, Payments, and Refunds

Platform fee: Therapytips.org retains a portion of each booking to cover credit card processing fees, bank transfer fees, and platform management costs. The exact amount is agreed individually with each therapist. Your net payout will be communicated at onboarding or upon any change to your arrangement.

Payment schedule: Therapists are paid on the 1st and 15th of each month, covering sessions booked in the preceding pay period with a two-week lag:

  • Payments on the 1st cover sessions booked between the 1st and 15th of the previous month. For example, a payment on May 1st covers bookings made April 1–15.
  • Payments on the 15th cover sessions booked between the 16th and the last day of the previous month. For example, a payment on April 15th covers bookings made March 16–31.

Payment eligibility is determined by the date a client books, not the date the session takes place. Payment is collected from the client at the time of booking.

Refunds: Refund decisions are at the sole discretion of the therapist. To request a refund on behalf of a client, contact us at [email protected]. Approved refunds typically take 5–10 business days to process. Refunded amounts will be deducted from your next scheduled payout where payment has already been disbursed.

Tax responsibility: You are solely responsible for reporting and remitting any taxes on income received through the platform. Therapytips.org does not withhold taxes on your behalf.

7. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. Upon deletion:

  • Your public profile will be replaced with a notice that the profile is no longer available.
  • Your availability and booking pages will be deactivated.
  • Any outstanding payments will be settled in the next scheduled payout cycle.
  • Client PHI will be retained for the minimum period required by law (generally 6 years) before deletion.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at any time, with or without notice, at our sole discretion, including for violations of these terms, credential misrepresentation, or conduct harmful to clients or the platform.

8. Changes to These Terms

These Therapist Terms are reviewed and updated periodically. When we make changes, we post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the platform after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to check this page from time to time.
