About Sharon
Hello, and welcome. You don’t have to face anxiety, trauma, or relationship struggles alone — and you don’t need to wait for extreme experiences to enter therapy. I offer compassionate, culturally sensitive counseling to individuals, couples, and groups, helping clients build resilience, strengthen connections, and move forward with confidence.
I am constantly learning and adapting to my clients’ needs, ensuring that each person receives care that is responsive, relevant, and supportive of their unique journey.
Before entering the counseling field, I was a qualified elementary school teacher for nine years, an experience that shaped my dedication to education, personal growth, and community support. I graduated with distinction from Capella University’s Human Services and Mental Health Counseling program in Minneapolis, USA, and also hold a B.Sc. in Social Work from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Psychologists (TTAP).
With experience working with clients across the Caribbean, United States, England, and Canada, I have developed an eclectic therapeutic approach that integrates evidence‑based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Positive Psychology with spirituality and cultural sensitivity. I offer support in marriage and relationship issues, stress management, career challenges, life transitions, anxiety, trauma, and depression.
