Therapytips.org

Therapytips.org is committed to accuracy. Our content covers psychological science and mental health — topics where precision matters — and we take responsibility both for getting things right and for correcting them when we get them wrong.

How We Handle Corrections

When we become aware of a factual error in a published article, we act promptly to address it. Our process is as follows:

  • We correct the error in the article itself, so that readers always see accurate information.
  • We add a clear correction notice to the affected article, stating what was changed and the date of the correction.
  • We update the article's "last modified" date to reflect when the correction was made.
  • We never silently delete or unpublish an article to hide an error. Transparency about what changed, and when, is part of how we maintain reader trust.

Minor changes that do not affect the substance or meaning of an article — such as fixing a typo, a broken link, or a formatting issue — may be made without a formal correction notice.

How To Report An Error

If you believe you have found a factual error in one of our articles, we want to hear about it. Please contact us and include the article title and URL, along with a description of the issue, so we can review and respond as quickly as possible.

Editorial Accountability

Our content is authored primarily by Mark Travers, Ph.D., a research psychologist, and mental-health-related articles undergo clinical review by Jourdan Travers, LCSW, our Clinical Director. You can read more about our editorial and review process in our Publishing Principles.
