Weekly journal prompts, sent directly to your inbox. Subscribe below for only $3/month.

We’re ecstatic to see the wonderful response to our “journal prompts” initiative—it reminded all of us at Awake Therapy yet again how the little things are, in fact, the big things. If you don’t know what we're talking about, let us explain.

In an attempt to find novel ways to support our clients and keep our conversations flowing, we've decided to offer you weekly journal prompts. We hope that a gentle weekly nudge to reflect—coupled with informative tidbits and wisdom to chew on—will deepen your journey toward self-growth and healing.

Here’s an example of what you can expect to receive each Monday when you join our Journal Club:

Hi Jane!

The team here at Awake Therapy has been brainstorming ways to better serve our clients, and we've landed on the idea of providing you with weekly journal prompts to assist you in your journey toward self-growth and healing. We find journaling to be an exceptionally helpful therapeutic tool–one that we recommend to many of our clients.

So, in that spirit, we'll be sending you a "Weekly Journal Prompt," along with a few other links and bits of wisdom, that we hope will serve you well. Perhaps it will give us something extra to talk about in a future therapy session.

Without further ado, here's what we've put together for you this week:

✍ Journal Prompt For The Week: Try to recall an instance of the “butterfly effect” in your life, where a small action you took compounded into a windfall gain. Write an account, drawing out how tiny pivots can lead to breakthroughs.

🦉From The Research Corner: Researcher Anne Holding explains the difference between value and pressure-based goals. “Value-based goals are more reflective of people's values and interests, which makes them feel more energized to pursue, and they are less susceptible to temptations and distractions. By contrast, pressure-based goals tend to result in greater action crises and can take a toll on people's mental and physical health over time.

We hope this note helped lighten your day. As always, our therapists are here for you if you need to talk.

Warmly,
The Awake Therapy Team
